The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as Mayor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

My priority is restoring operational discipline, accountability, and evidence based planning across all City divisions, agencies, and boards. With 40+ years in engineering, provincial operations, telecommunications consulting, and complex multi-party contract development and administration, I bring strengths in operational standards, procurement, infrastructure reliability, transit modernization, service delivery, and multi stakeholder coordination to ensure clear responsibility, measurable outcomes, and transparent use of public resources.

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

My priority would be to implement a disciplined, evidence based housing strategy that expands supply, strengthens affordability, improves operational performance, and addresses chronic homelessness. Priorities include predictable planning, moderate subsidized expansion, disciplined procurement, engineering based repairs, eviction prevention supports, coordinated outreach, and transparent reporting and public accountability. My experience in standards, procurement, audits, and infrastructure oversight ensures accountable, measurable results.

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

I would implement a disciplined, value for money affordability framework that reduces unnecessary municipal cost pressures and delivers immediate, measurable relief for residents. Priorities include restructured city operations, reformed social housing, engineering based maintenance, modernized building systems, fee stability plans, streamlined approvals, targeted relief programs, and transparent reporting. My experience in operational standards, contract management, audits, and cost analysis ensure efficient, accountable affordability measures

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

I would implement a coordinated, evidence based safety strategy applying Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and Engineering-based Operational Standards across parks, transit stations and high-traffic areas. Priorities include clear sightlines, lighting, inspections, Integrated Safety Presence across Divisions, rapid response to disorder, modernized transit safety systems, community partnerships, and transparent reporting. My operational standards, audits, and infrastructure experience support consistent, accountable delivery.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

I would implement a coordinated, engineering driven mobility strategy that improves reliability, reduces congestion, strengthen transit performance and ensures safe, predictable movement for all users - drivers, transit riders, cyclists, pedestrians. Priorities include engineering and long-term plans, upgraded TTC systems, adaptive traffic controls, protected cycling routes, multi agency coordination, transparent reporting, and aligning transportation with housing growth. My engineering and procurement experience supports disciplined delivery.

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

I would implement a coordinated, evidence-based safety, anti-hate and inclusion framework that strengthens prevention, improves rapid response, and ensures protection and respect for public and communities; with clear accountability, CPTED based design, strong partnerships, community based prevention and education. Priorities include unified response, standardized protocols, targeted supports, reporting and transparency. My operational standards, engineering, and multi stakeholder coordination experience supports effective, inclusive delivery.
