Issue answers

The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as Mayor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

1. General Candidate Priorities My top priority is upholding children’s rights, our legal rights, and the Canadian Charter of Rights to ensure the reasonable enjoyment of life. These issues are deeply interconnected. By championing them, we can foster an environment of hope, providing greater opportunities for a productive, prosperous, and loving city where we all coexist in peace. We must create a sustainable Toronto where every citizen can live without fear.

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

3. Housing I will encourage active civic participation, empowering citizens to build positive results for our communities. To improve housing security, we must remove barriers to growth. This includes addressing the environments that promote substance abuse, which often hinder stability. By fostering a cleaner, more supportive atmosphere, we can help more residents find and maintain a secure place to live.People First Not Politics>>

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

2. Cost of Living To make Toronto more affordable, I will prioritize initiatives that empower residents to reach their full potential. By fostering a culture of mutual support and community care, we can help neighbors through times of need. My administration will focus on practical solutions that reduce financial burdens while encouraging the personal character and resilience that make our city thrive.

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

4. Safety in Public Spaces I advocate for zero tolerance regarding the infringement of others' Charter rights to enjoy their lives. Safety stems from respect. We will foster a loving, kind, and caring environment that prioritizes the well-being of all residents. By ensuring that public spaces are free from harassment and intimidation, we create a secure atmosphere where everyone has positive, productive opportunities to thrive.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

5. Getting Around the City To improve transit and mobility, we must invest in our workforce. I will prioritize hiring more city staff—including police, fire, EMS, and municipal workers—to ensure our services are fully staffed and efficient. Crucially, I will implement a policy prioritizing employment criteria that requires these essential workers to live within Toronto, ensuring they are personally invested in the city they serve.

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

6. Confronting a Rise in Hateful and Hostile Behaviour I have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, hate speech, or violent and demeaning behavior toward any resident. Toronto must be a safe, welcoming home for everyone, regardless of background. I will lead by example and hold our institutions accountable to ensure that every member of our community—especially those from marginalized or equity-deserving groups—feels protected, valued, and respected.
