The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as Mayor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

Two words, not Brad Chowford, not to be mistaken for Braeden Chow. “If you’re fed up with the same old scene, make #32 your protest vote machine!!"

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

First, I would leverage ChatGPLee: I would focus on one goal: making sure people can find a home they can afford, stay housed when times get tough, and access support before they end up homeless. Toronto needs a housing strategy that addresses the full spectrum of need, from renters struggling with rising costs to families waiting for subsidized housing and people living in encampments or shelters.

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

I would implement a reduction of 3.1% in property tax a year and leverage a $1001 in Emergency Aid for Torontonians 17+. Future increases will be kept below the inflation rate in the following 1094 days of my term. In addition, 9 TTC ride a week fare cap: After 9 paid rides in a single week, the rest of the week is free.

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

Work smarter, not harder. I promise to hire 1001 new police officers over four years, and one robotic cop.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

Speeds need to be decreased. There are too many bad drivers in the city. Mandatory driving tests needed. Drivers must be courteous to each other. Motorcyclist need to stop weaving in and out off traffic. 401 West to the DVP (Collectors) needs to be at least two lanes instead of one. An advanced green is needed at Lower Jarvis turning westbound onto the Gardiner. Transport trucks must stay in the furthest right lane and must never go past the speed limit. Honking horns need to be addressed (two honks means a fine and 3 demerit points).

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

Yo, Toronto, listen up, we’re bringing that heat, A city full of love, where respect hits the street!! No hate, no fear, let’s stand up tall, A safe and welcoming city for one and all!! Newcomers, neighbours, every race, every creed, Equal rights, fair chances — that’s the Toronto we need!! Fight hate, spread love, let’s keep the vibe clean, Build a stronger city, keep our communities green!! From the east to the west, let the whole city see, My name is Rick Lee. When you hit that ballot, you know what to do, PICK NUMBER 32
