Trustees, the Board, and the Province

My first priority would be strengthening classroom learning, especially reading, math and science. In my opinion, books need to return to the classroom. Technology is useful, but it should support, not replace, handwriting, discussion and direct teaching. As a parent and construction management professional, I understand planning, budgeting, accountability and follow-through. I would bring that practical, common-sense approach to the board and focus on what truly helps students succeed.

Bullying in Schools

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected and included at school. Bullying and discrimination must always be taken seriously. A trustee’s role is to make sure the right policies, staff training and student supports are in place and to hold the school board accountable for enforcing those policies and protecting the student.

Class Sizes and Staffing

Teachers and EAs need the right support to meet the needs of every student. When classrooms are too large or do not have enough support, both students and staff are negatively affected. As trustee, I would listen to families and school staff, review staffing needs across Ward 2, and make sure resources are distributed fairly. A trustee cannot make these changes alone, but I would bring concerns forward, ask tough questions and hold the board accountable for putting students’ needs first.

Special Programs and Program Access

Every student should have a fair opportunity to access programs that help them learn, grow and succeed. As trustee, I would prioritize: Strong special-education programs and timely student supports Fair access to language, arts and other specialized programs Clear information so families understand their options I would listen to families, educators and students before making decisions. My goal would be to protect successful programs while making sure resources are shared fairly
