What's the most important thing you'd act on as a school board trustee, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

My most important priority would be creating safe, healthy and inclusive schools where every student can succeed. I would advocate for improved student nutrition, mental-health services, bullying prevention, classroom support and indoor air quality. My community leadership, professional experience in accounting and financial analysis, and ability to listen and work with diverse communities would help me examine budgets carefully, build cooperation and advocate effectively to the Board and provincial government.

Bullying in Schools

Bullying and discrimination are concerns raised in many school communities. What role do you believe a School Board Trustee should play in addressing these issues, and what actions would you support?

A trustee must help ensure that every student feels safe, respected and included. I would support stronger bullying-prevention education, confidential and accessible reporting systems, timely investigations, and meaningful follow-up with students and families. Schools should address all forms of discrimination consistently while providing mental-health support for those affected. I would also promote staff training, student leadership and regular reporting to ensure policies are producing real results.

Class Sizes and Staffing

Some school communities have raised concerns about teacher and educational-assistant (EA) staffing levels and class sizes. What role would you take as a School Board Trustee in addressing these concerns, and what would your priorities be?

As trustee, I would listen to families, educators and school staff, review local staffing data, and advocate for resources based on actual student needs. My priorities would include manageable class sizes, sufficient teachers and educational assistants, and timely support for students with special needs. I would push for transparent staffing decisions, responsible budgeting and stronger provincial funding so that every classroom has the support required for safe and effective learning.

Special Programs and Program Access

School boards make decisions about the range and distribution of specialized programs, including special education, language programs, and arts programming. What would you prioritize as a School Board Trustee in how these programs are offered and accessed?

My priority would be fair and accessible programming across Ward 10 and the TDSB. A student’s postal code, family income, disability or language should not prevent them from accessing suitable opportunities. I would support strong special-education services, language and arts programs, accessible transportation, and clear information for families. Decisions should be guided by student needs, community consultation and evidence, with regular reviews to identify and remove barriers.
