Issue answers

Trustees, the Board, and the Province

What's the most important thing you'd act on as a school board trustee, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

The most important thing I'd act on as a Public School Board Trustee is to check the status of each schools in TDSB such as: a) ownership title of each building b) construction cost of each building c) check the business registration with CRA &income taxes returns filed d) trustee office. I have more than 20 years working experience in banking, telecom & retail. My strengths consists of completion of Law degrees in Paralegal and Law Clerk and diploma in Computerized Accounting & Office Administration and Taxation degree as Tax Accountant.

Bullying in Schools

Bullying and discrimination are concerns raised in many school communities. What role do you believe a School Board Trustee should play in addressing these issues, and what actions would you support?

Public School Board Trustee should play as a Guidance Counsellor or Secretary in addressing issues about bullying by way of hitting weak students and racial discrimination who came from Europe. They should help students by nursing them by way of giving first aid who become victims of bully when they are hurt by big fat students and should be reported to the Toronto Police Service. Also, they should act as door keepers and keyholders to guard the buildings and remove those who sleep inside the school at night.

Class Sizes and Staffing

Some school communities have raised concerns about teacher and educational-assistant (EA) staffing levels and class sizes. What role would you take as a School Board Trustee in addressing these concerns, and what would your priorities be?

Public School Board Trustee should play the role of Principal who determine the Teacher and Education Assistant staffing levels of JK, SK, G1 to G8 for Junior and Grade 9 to G12 for Secondary and class sizes with at least 25 for all levels. My 1st priority would be to check all Elementary schools in addressing these concerns about lack of teachers and classrooms. Then, my 2nd priority would be the Secondary schools to check if their is a need to to add more classrooms and suggest to transfer them to other schools with less students.

Special Programs and Program Access

School boards make decisions about the range and distribution of specialized programs, including special education, language programs, and arts programming. What would you prioritize as a School Board Trustee in how these programs are offered and accessed?

As a Public School Board Trustee, I'd prioritize the language programs of students who were born in other countries such as Asians and Muslim who struggle to study English subject as compared to those students who were born in Canada, U.S.A. and Europe who have acquired English words since birth. Secondly, I'd introduce new arts programming which are taught in these countries so we can all learn about their history. Thirdly, I'd change specialized programs to hire psychologists or therapists to teach sick students in special homes separately.
