Issue answers
Trustees, the Board, and the Province
What's the most important thing you'd act on as a school board trustee, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen? My top priority would be ensuring students get the support they need to learn and feel safe. As a mother of five who all attended schools in this ward, I bring years of experience navigating our schools as a parent. I would use my communication and problem-solving skills to listen to families, work with educators, and advocate to the board and province for adequate staffing and resources. Families deserve a trustee who listens and follows through.
As a mother of five who have all attended schools in this ward, I believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected and included. As trustee, I would advocate for clear reporting procedures, timely follow-up with families, staff training and support for affected students. I would listen to families and hold the board accountable for addressing bullying and discrimination.
As a mother of five who have all attended schools in this ward, I understand how important individual attention is to a child’s success. I would advocate for smaller classes, adequate teacher and EA staffing, and stronger special education support. My priorities would be listening to families and educators, transparent spending, and directing resources where students need them most.
Special Programs and Program Access
School boards make decisions about the range and distribution of specialized programs, including special education, language programs, and arts programming. What would you prioritize as a School Board Trustee in how these programs are offered and accessed? As a mother of five who all attended schools in this ward, I know children have different needs and talents. I would prioritize timely special education support and fair access to language and arts programs. I would advocate for programs close to home, clear information for families, and fewer financial and transportation barriers so every child has the opportunity to thrive.
