Trustees, the Board, and the Province

Drawing on my experience in equity-focused governance, systems thinking, and community engagement, I will serve to strengthen school-based micro-community hubs where students, families, educators, and community partners can lead, connect, and thrive together. A key priority is addressing the two-month summer gap, when many students lose access to vital supports and families struggle to find affordable childcare. Schools should remain connected to their communities year-round through programming, partnerships and youth stewardship opportunities.

Bullying in Schools

My priority is to create conditions for safe, inclusive, and respectful school climates. I would support policies and practices that address bullying and discrimination through prevention, relationship-building, and accountability, rather than relying solely on punitive responses. My priority would be strengthening student belonging, dignity, and voice by promoting approaches grounded in curiosity, listening, inclusion, and restorative problem-solving. When students feel seen, respected, and connected, schools become safer places for everyone.

Class Sizes and Staffing

I would advocate for staffing and class-size decisions that reflect the actual needs of students, educators, and schools. I support a dynamic resource-allocation process that responds to changing student needs, school conditions, and community realities, rather than relying solely on static enrolment projections. My priority is ensuring every student has access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed. Investing proactively in adequate staffing is both an equity imperative and a fiscally responsible way to improve outcomes.

Special Programs and Program Access

My priority would be updating the policy architecture that guides decision-making, accountability, transparency, access criteria, appeals, data-informed planning, and meaningful community engagement in how specialized programs are offered. I would champion equitable access standards that remove barriers related to geography, transportation, and historical exclusion. I would ensure special education supports are delivered equitably through timely assessments, student-centered services and community-informed planning that reflects evolving needs.
