Issue answers
I would bring empathy, accessibility and a commitment to turning residents’ concerns into action. With over 20 years of leadership in education and community initiatives, I know the importance of listening without assumptions. I would identify local priorities, develop realistic plans with measurable outcomes and report openly on progress. My experience building partnerships across education, business, communities and government would help me build consensus and deliver practical results.
Housing is the foundation of stability, dignity and opportunity. I would help renters who are going through a crisis by supporting the creation and management of a rent bank, accelerate affordable and supportive housing, and use City-owned land and partnerships to get homes built faster. For people experiencing homelessness, I would prioritize pathways into permanent housing with ongoing support. By listening with empathy and setting measurable goals, I would help more residents find a home, keep it and feel secure in their community.
Affordability affects residents every day, from rent and groceries to transportation. I would freeze TTC fares and work to reduce costs for those who rely on transit, while maintaining reliable service. By listening directly to residents, I would identify where the City can make the greatest difference, turn those concerns into practical action with measurable goals, and report back on results. My focus is easing everyday pressures with empathy and accountability.
Toronto’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and welcome. I would make hate incidents easier to report, ensure timely support, and strengthen coordination between the City, community organizations, the TTC and Toronto Police. I would invest in community-led programs that build understanding and prevent tensions from escalating, listen to affected communities, and track results to ensure our actions make Toronto safer and more inclusive.
My priority is safer, easier and more predictable travel for everyone. I would coordinate roadwork and lane closures, improve traffic signals and enforce rules against blocking intersections. I would help buses and streetcars move reliably through congestion with transit signal priority, while improving dangerous intersections and closing gaps in walking and cycling routes. Using data and residents’ feedback, I would focus on practical changes that keep Toronto moving. I would emphasize "SHARE THE ROAD".
Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour
Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?Toronto’s diversity is its greatest strength. Everyone should feel safe, respected & welcome. I would make hate incidents easier to report, ensure support & coordination between the City, community organizations, the TTC & TPS. I would invest in community-led programs that build understanding & prevent tensions from escalating. By listening to those affected and tracking results, I would focus on prevention and accountability to make Toronto safer for everyone. A key pillar would be getting help to those in need...such as harm reduction sites
