Issue answers
My priority is making Don Valley North a safer, more connected and affordable community, while ensuring residents’ concerns are heard at City Hall. With 20+ years of experience in education, leadership, partnerships and community engagement, I bring a collaborative, practical approach to problem-solving. I hold an MBA in Finance, am a professionally qualified Management Accountant, an ATIO Certified Translator, and a local school council co-chair. I understand the importance of working collaboratively with families and our community.
I would focus on housing stability from both ends: increasing the supply of purpose-built affordable, supportive housing while helping people stay in the homes they already have. That means using city-owned land, working with non-profit housing providers, improving access to affordable housing, strengthening eviction-prevention supports, and working with provincial and federal partners. Housing policy should also reflect the needs of families, seniors, newcomers and people experiencing homelessness.
I would prioritize putting more money back into household budgets by improving value for money at City Hall. Before asking residents to pay more, I would closely review spending, procurement, and programs to identify waste and efficiencies. I would also protect essential affordability measures, particularly transit affordability and support for lower-income households. The goal is practical: reduce unnecessary costs while maintaining the services residents rely on.
I would focus on visible, preventive safety, better lighting, clean and well-maintained parks and streets, safer TTC spaces, and targeted traffic-calming measures. I also support a coordinated approach that brings together police, paramedics, mental health, and community services where needed. Youth programs and positive use of public spaces can help prevent problems before they escalate. People should not only be safe; they should feel comfortable using their neighbourhoods at any time.
I would prioritize a transportation system that is reliable, connected and works for everyone, whether driving, taking transit, cycling or walking. I would focus on improving TTC reliability and frequency, reducing congestion through better traffic and construction management, and improving signal priority. I would also support safer, well-maintained sidewalks, crossings and cycling connections, with accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities.
Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour
Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?I would prioritize a Toronto where everyone feels safe, respected and welcome. City services should respond quickly to hate and harassment, support affected residents, and work with community organizations, schools and law enforcement on prevention and education. I would strengthen community-based programs that build understanding and belonging, while ensuring public spaces are safe and accessible. Every resident deserves dignity, respect and equal access to opportunity.
