The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as a City Councillor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

My priority would be restoring confidence in the basic services residents rely on—safe streets, well-maintained roads, reliable snow clearing and responsible spending. As a small-business owner, I understand budgets, accountability and solving problems quickly. I also spend countless hours speaking directly with Willowdale residents, and I would bring that same accessibility and practical, results-focused approach to City Hall.

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

I would prioritize getting more housing built faster by cutting unnecessary delays while ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with growth. We need genuinely affordable rental and ownership options, protection of existing rental housing, and targeted RGI and supportive housing for those who need it most. On homelessness, housing must be paired with mental-health, addiction and other supports. Growth should be responsible, affordable and shaped with community input.

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

I would prioritize keeping property taxes and City fees under control by demanding better value from every tax dollar. Before asking residents to pay more, City Hall should find efficiencies, eliminate waste and focus spending on essential services. Toronto cannot become more affordable if government continually adds to the cost of living. Residents deserve a City that lives within its means and respects their ability to pay.

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

I would prioritize visible, proactive safety in our public spaces. That means appropriate police and TTC enforcement where needed, better lighting and maintenance, and faster responses to dangerous or disruptive behaviour. We also need effective mental-health, addiction and outreach services so vulnerable people receive appropriate help. Everyone should be able to use our parks, streets and transit safely and with confidence.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

I would prioritize reducing congestion while improving every way people move. That means smarter traffic signals, better road maintenance, reliable transit and safer walking and cycling infrastructure. Transportation decisions should be based on safety, traffic flow and local conditions—not a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you drive, take transit, cycle or walk, the goal should be getting you where you need to go safely and efficiently.

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

As your city councillor you would never need to wonder where I stand. Hate and intimidation has no place in Willowdale, and the hateful gatherings that have been happening near places of worship have no place here in Toronto. As your Councillor I will uphold the rule of law, and protect residents from the hate that is spreading throughout our city. Working with the police to enforce the laws and not pick and choose which laws we enforce.
