The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as a City Councillor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

The first thing I would act on would be Public Safety. We have experienced a rise in crime across the board. Assaults, Burglaries, Vandalization, Stabbings and Shootings, Gang Activities, as well as Street Drugs finding there way to our Schools, Playgrounds and our Communities. I will work with the Toronto Police Department to put an end to that immediately. I will fight to properly fund the Police Department, and advocate for harsher punishments for the criminals.

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

We need to investigate and reduce Property Tax. As well as, start approving and start building more Homes and Buildings immediately. With more quantity it would ease the pressure from the limited supply we have at the moment.

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

One thing that I would prioritize right from the get-go would be, to raise concern on City Spending, eliminate Waste and Corruption, and redirect the tax payers money back to the essential services every Torontonian relies on everyday.

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

Public safety is one of my top priorities. We need to push for more police patrols so that all citizens can feel safe. As a mother of three, I am one of many that have witnessed our parks become an unsafe place for our children and ourselves. We must clean up our streets and parks. We need to prioritize a better relationship with our police forces and make the City prioritize fixing the homelessness that has increased throughout all of Toronto.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

The bike lanes and streetcars have congested our streets, and need to go! 1) The vehicles on the bike lanes are a hazard to drivers and to pedestrians, they hardly ever follow any rules of the road, have ZERO regulations, and cant be punished for their violations. 2) The concept of a streetcar is nice, BUT, when they make a stop they shut down traffic in the process. Track and Cable maintenance result in more road closures. I support more busses, and more subway. I'm in favour to bring back more car lanes to the streets.

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

For the most part I believe most Torontonians are not hateful or hostile. Most newcomers come to this great country and receive many advantages as newcomers. Some would say that they get prioritized before our veterans, seniors and residents. I have witnessed however, residents who are not necessarily newcomers be hostile and hateful towards the Jewish community and unfortunately in the presence of children. This comes back to public safety and a better relationship with our police forces.
