The Mayor and City Council

What's the most important thing you'd act on as a City Councillor, and what experience or strengths would help you make it happen?

I will speed up nonprofit and co-op housing purchases and expand rapid modular housing. We must stop clearing encampments without real housing options and work with health agencies to support people in housing. Housing is a human right, and we need a coordinated approach that builds stability and protects our public spaces.

Housing

Housing costs weigh on Torontonians whether they rent or own, access to subsidized housing is limited, and a growing number of people have no home at all. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people find and keep a secure place to live?

I will restore basic service delivery and accountability in our neighborhoods. Many residents feel City Hall is slow and unresponsive. I bring a practical, people focused approach: I listen first, stay organized, and work steadily with residents and staff to solve problems. I focus on clear communication and timely results so services actually work for people.

Cost of Living

The cost of daily life keeps climbing — housing, transit fares, city fees, etc. What is one thing you would prioritize on the next City Council to make Toronto more affordable, soon enough to matter to residents?

I will freeze inflation increases on TTC fares and recreation fees while improving efficiency at City Hall. To help renters right away, we must fully fund RentSafeTO so tenants are protected from unfair rent hikes. Keeping people stably housed and stopping unnecessary fee increases are the fastest ways to ease pressure on families.

Safety in Public Spaces

Some Torontonians don't feel safe in parks, on transit, or on certain streets, even where reported crime is low. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to help people be and feel safe in the city's public spaces?

Safety means more than policing. We need visible TTC staff and crisis response teams so riders feel secure. Long-term safety comes from strong community programs — keeping centers open later, supporting evening recreation, and giving youth positive paths. This keeps parks, streets, and transit welcoming for everyone.

Getting Around the City

Getting around the city is a source of frustration for many Torontonians, whether people drive, take transit, cycle, or walk. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to improve how people move around the city, however they travel?

I will focus on reliable, smart transportation planning. For transit, that means better bus lanes and improved signalling to speed up surface routes. For drivers and cyclists, we need data-based street design, coordinated construction, and optimized traffic lights. We can improve travel for everyone without creating conflict between road users.

Confronting Hateful and Hostile Behaviour

Many Torontonians are concerned about hateful and hostile behaviour, which can disproportionately affect newcomers and members of racialized, marginalized, and equity-deserving communities. What would you prioritize on the next City Council to respond and keep Toronto safe and welcoming for everyone?

I support zero tolerance for hate through community education, stronger human rights protections, and grants for vulnerable spaces and places of worship. I will stand with equity-deserving groups, newcomers, and Indigenous communities by funding grassroots anti-hate work and ensuring city services are inclusive and safe for all.
